The clutch and flywheel combo seems like it would help a lot more to minimize driveline power loss. I want to get one but I don't know if having a lighter flywheel means that my revs would drop out of my power range to quickly. If I so chose to go with that combo, what clutch should I get, I like ACT but I don't know if I should get the 2100 or the 2600 remember this is my daily driver not a full out race car. Thanks for all your help. Later.

$50.00- Iridium Spark Plugs... I'd recommend getting 8.5mm Spark Plug Wires soon after for the full effect.

$50 for spark plugs? are you insane? I can get the NGK iridiums for $10 for 4 of them... and you wont see any power gains from these.

anyways, if you want 15's, NITROUS NITROUS NITROUS!!! i just got mine on and it is cargasmic!

Sounds like you need a healthy douse of nitrous

Spoken by a true ex 2gnt'er who sprayed LOL. But i am pretty sure with nitrous and some port work (head) you can break into 14s

$10 for 4 NGK iridiums? I paid like 38 for mine. Where the hell do you get yours? And... duh, you won't see much if any gains from the plugs alone, but paired with a good 8.5mm sparkplug wire and upgraded ignition coil, you'll feel a difference. Definately. Hell I did. No2... Not fan of it if it's not being used at a track for some kinda cash prize. It's almost like fake power... Like steroids. You can hook almost any car up with the right amount of No2 and it'll run 15s. Plus, if your engine isnt built to support it correctly it can do more harm than good in the long run (if you dont use it right, which I understand is really easy to do, and is the reason a lot of people use the VENOM system, that does it automatically)...Kinda like steroids. But if your only concern is to break into 15's cheap and quick, then I guess it's your best bet.

At NAPA they were $2.50 a piece. Your engine doesnt need to be built to support a 55 shot, or a 65 shot, or same say even a 75 shot. a stock engine can handle it. im running the 65 fine. if you think its fake power than so be it, all i know is im a hell of a lot faster when using it, and thats ok with me :thumb:

Im poor also... I used to make 20+/hr now I make 7.05 minimum f'ing wage... good thing Im going back to school.. I hate weight.. its the cheapest thing to get faster I have done the following... removed all the interior behind the front seats... removed the auto antannea and put in a regular one.. no rear winshield wiper or pump, (i kept the spare tire) unless you got triple A. no rear 3rd tail light... It fell off anyways.. up front I took out the center console and built a drink holder in... took off the ac pump and all related things.. condensor just blocks the damn radiator anyways... makes room for that FMIC your gonna get when you hit the lottery.. cut up the air intake (that sheet metal canister around the filter) get a lighter batter like a dry cell, take the intake manifold off and remove all that extra metal.. like the big chunk on the throttle body side and between all the runners. remove the engine lift plate on the exhaust manifold (keep that one stored away somewhere) take that thing off the bottom of the throttle body and re route the water lines.. (like you want to heat the manifold or something) this should equate to bunch of weight you dont need if your hardcore like me... tint the windows so no one knows your crazy. you could also put the sunroof away somewhere and the spare if your just drag racing... I also would try two spare tires on the rear for drag racing...for reducing drag and rotating weight. then go out and buy the best tires you can afford and maybe some adjustable shocks.... tires just for the front if you cant spare the rears. just a thought.. my friends say im like the jenny craig for cars. re figure your power to weight ratio based on a few hundred pounds instead of a few horsepower and see what looks better. I even put a flow master 2-1/2 in/out between the seats (under the car of course) and ran the exhaust out the passenger side of the car through a nascar style exhaust exit (______)
something like that about 8 inches long and 1-5/8 tall with round ends
and chassis set up is also very important

i got 2.5 in cat back with straight pipe a short ram with teh biggest filer you ever seen and i kept up with my friends stock with only the free mods done to it gst pushin 11 pounds of boost he was real surprised i spend 177 shipped on teh catback with straight pit and 90 on the short ram it was made to house the mas so ya a little can go a long way i also rebuilt the engine about 1500 miles ago gonna get headers and afc soon gotta take it to teh track see what i run only got an 1/8 mile here tho. also this is on a 1g 4g63 nt :laser: :thumb:

i don't mean to knock your car at all, but there had to be something wrong with your friends gst.I get alot of 1g's at the shop mostly n/a and we also have 1good customer with a 91 gst(witch should of been mine) .LOL n/a's a couple lightly modded , bone stock gst and there is a world of difference.neways im hoping to be hittin around 140 or so whp and once i have cams, 155-160 whp( cranes 12's)maybe?well neways keep on moddin have fun and beware of the rice side ;)

first get rid of your headers all of you. you guys are losing power are cars need back presssure. the best exhaust for us is stock manifold, hi flow cat and free flowing cat back exhaust no more than 2.5 inch at most. Then do some porting and intake work and if you are a really good driver you might be able to hit 15s.

are you saying with an exaust, high flow cat, and porting and intake work, you might hit 15's if your a good driver? i think you will hit 15's
