Starting Car Without Pushing Clutch In

I recently disconnected that white clip under the dash so I can start my car without pushing the clutch in. I was wondering hypothetically if starting the car without pushing the clutch in would prematurely wear the starter since it has to rotate the additional weight of the clutch disk and input shaft. Could this be a problem or should I not worry about it?

Don't worry about it.

It has to turn the engine under compression, the weight of the input shaft on the trans doesn't matter.

The switch is more of a saftey for those who forget to take it out of gear before starting their car. When I did my auto to 5 speed conversion, I never hooked it up and haven't noticed excess wear or anything.
