The other day I was driving and I had a prob goin into 3rd and put it in second. I thought I herd somethin snap or pop. I noticed that shifting from 1st to 2cd was very easy. Before I would feel it shifting but now it just moved was to easy with no resistance. I could not go into 3rd now.
When I got home I parked and noticed I had no neutral anymore even with the shifter in the center. It seems to be stuck in a high gear also because when I revved and let the clutch in it would just stall not move at all. I have neutral when the clutch is in so it dissengages fine and I can get it to go in to all the gears when off with the clutch in but no other gear besides first and second work even if I put it in that gear.
I am thinking that the linkage is messed up. Both ended still move on the shifter cables. I have a shep trans and race on it so I dont think daily driving broke it. Please let me know anything you think it could be. Thanks

Sounds like a shift fork.

Could anyone be more specific like which shift fork or if it is that. Thanks

Well, what was the last gear you were in? It's going to be that shift fork.

The problem happened when I went to shift into 3rd gear and it didnt go so I went back into second.
