Ok... Eclipses have been my dream car since I started looking into my first one...sadly I got a mustang which was badass dont get me wrong but unfortunately i got in a wreck and they claimed liability so I got money to buy a car...that car was my 99 eclipse RS...since I hope to have this car for a long time I plan on doing alot of work to it. So now to the big question

I know very little about engines. So my question is Im about to buy the 2.0L stage 2 shortblock from this website
Modern Automotive Performance #::#DSM #::#Engine Components and Cooling #::#MAPerformance Shortblocks #::#MAPerformance 2.0l Shortblock (Stage 2) but I dont know where to go from there. me and my friend who speacilizes in eclipses and works at a import tuner shop is going to help me build it but I would like to know from all of you every aspect of what to buy starting from the first componet I should buy after getting the short block and so on and so on. Also the website im getting the block from offers *upgrades* i guess for the engine (go to the shortblock page on this site and scroll down you will see what im talking about, like add something for better low end $350) but I dont understand some of them like it asks me if I want 2 dif kind of pistons...I dont know what the hell the difference is. Please a Import expert give me the recipe for a 2.0L racing engine from the ground up. Also The best brands that I should go with...
And the work that will needed to be done since im going from a 420A to a 2g63
And please im really going to pay attention to what you guys say but if you think I might not understand what a part does...than just go ahead and explain it ### if not I wont understand it haha!

You do know they will be turning your 2.0 to a 2.3 with that right?

You may want to consider selling the RS and looking for a GST or GSX, It will cost alot less.
Personally I'm waiting for someone to attempt a badass 420a NA project:sneaky:
 
yes i know it will be expensive but price is not a big deal to me due to the fact im in college and have a good job with no bills *BUT INSURANCE* all my money goes to my car. Also i made a mistake im geting the 2.0L short block not the 2.3L i thought I edited it but I guess not :thumb: LOL
