Star Turbo kit not street legal?

I was talking to my supplier (sounds like a drug dealer and he said that bolting on the Start Stage 2 kit would make my car not smog legal for california. How are you people with the GS + turbo kit dealing with this?

No smog laws here in Alabama w00t. As for cali im not sure i know a lot of guys on 2gnt have them and are from cali. They may take them off when they have to go in for their emissions testing. What is the law exactly there?

the law here is that any cop can pull u over if he suspects u have illegal mods and send you to the state referee. most cops wont do that, ive heard stories of it :thumbdown my friend got a ticket for his suspension bouncing to much.....

I guess I wanted to know from the CALIFORNIA people, how are you passing smog with your turbo kits on your cars? Obviously I'm talking to the NT --> turbo conversion people.
