you seem to be an expert at this.. so where's your turbo kit? o, still trying to make one?;)

Actually, believe it or not, I have a used star stage 2 and I sold the custom parts to another guy. My star kit is missing the whole fuel system (which doesn't bother me because I would have replaced it all anyway). The t3/t4 is still being rebuilt also. It will be on after I graduate in about a month. I don't consider myself an expert at all, I just try and help out. If you want some experts check out 2gnt.com.

Thats exactly why I didn't go with a star kit.

Turbo420a:

I warned everyone about the size and the fact that it was raining that day. I plan on redoing those videos. They were only there to give a basic idea of what the kit and the car sounds like. More than 2 people watched the star videos. A bunch of people at my work did and they thought the car sounded like it was going to blow up. Like I said earlier, its my personal opinion that his car sounded like #### and if mine sounded like that, I would have taken the entire kit off. Furthermore, he only posted those because of the hahn videos I put up, trying to show off his kit. I didn't think that video did justice and he should have waited to post a better one because it sounded like sh$t. Granted I should have waited till it was dry outside, but i was excited to do it and I warned people about the videos.

If you want to find the horror stories with star kits, then start doing some searches because people have #####ed plenty of times about their kits.

Ive had a few minor problems with my car after the turbo kit install, and just wanted to talk to someone over the phone that knew what they were talking about. Someone I could trust. Sorry but when it comes to my car, I might go online and ask people's opinions and then form my own opinion on the matter. However, for my own sake of being sure I have the correct answer, I love the fact that I can call hahn and ask them.

As far as instructions go.. you installed it with the star instructions.. good job, your a winner. Me and 3 of my friends installed my kit in about 30 hours. My friends aren't idiots and know an assload more about dsm's then i think i ever could. The entire time we were reading every page of our instructions and being confused at some points. Don't say that installing a turbo kit is a straight forward thing, because its not. Its a royal pain in the ass and its difficult to boot for both kits.

I hope everyone REALIZES that im not talking sh$t about the star kit, only the company(s) that sell them and the lack of support they provide. Some people are fine with no support, but hey the other 90% of us need to know they have spent their money wisely and that a company will be there to back their product and wont forget to send the fuel system.

You know what I think is even more funny that all this debating about which kit is better, it's the fact that I call Hahn all the time. I talk to Brad in Sales probably once a week. I'm interested in the Gen7 DFI system! So do I have to OWN a Hahn kit, NOPE! I don't need much help troublshooting it because i know what I'm doing with my car. The point I'm trying to make is, if I needed there help I could call them anytime!

Hehe, well if I got an HRC kit I would have also replaced it also ;)

Fuel system I *think* I'm going to try 440's, supra intank fuel pump, greddy e-manage, and vortec s-fmu. Only about $1000 for a pretty sound fuel system.

Like the other guy said, we're not saying HRC itself is a bad company but I just think they should revamp their kits again. NER probably would have been some of the best kits since you can choose what parts you want along with it. Maybe someday they will let you.

Mods... Zip this thread shut!

Its finally over!
When the wisemen agree its time to let it die until we gets some better movies of the star/hahn kits.

Thanks for the vids u 2 tho!

And dont forget...hopefully if I'm there there will be a battle of Production Kits vs. Custom kits. I will be there, but the question is if my car will be turbo'd or not. we'll see........

OK guys, where are not going to turn this into a "bash suieclipse" thread. I'll make sure this thread is closed long before that happens. As you all know in the past we have had our differences, many accually. However, debating on a topic is fine, resorting to questioning someones family tree is out of the question. Lets keep this on topic please!

okay get this thing back on topic pronto..........

i'll be going through this and ditching all non-thread related posts.

The one point I want to make in this thread will be brief. When you bash the company that sells star kits you are bashing a VENDOR of a star kit. There have been plenty of stories of VENDORS of the hahn kit making mistakes. Hahn directly does know their stuff but every vendor and manufacturer makes mistakes Hahn included. Neither kit is better they both have their highs and lows. I personally feel the star kit was for me, but I'm not going to bash the Hahn kit. IMO I feel the componets of the star kit are better that does not mean that Hahn's kit is crap. They are both great platforms for making a fast car. I'm not going to say why I perfer star or why I dislike the Hahn kit. All I'm going to say is weigh your options and make the right decision for you. But do not go bashing other kits or companys, everyone makes mistakes.
