Hi

I have been chasing a stalling problem that began about a year and a half ago. Everything was fine until one day my car began dropping revs whenever you put the car in neutral from over 2500-3000RPM. The revs drop to about 400-500RPM, sometimes the car stalls, and then will kick back up to about 1300RPM. Sometimes I get a mild idle surge from 1200-1500 RPM (not true idle surge, but the condition is similar) While this happens vacuum drops to the 10 range, and the lights dim.

I have tried setting the RPM the correct way with no luck. By bumping idle to about 1,000 the problem is reduced somewhat, but obviously this is just masking the underlying problem.

I have replaced my ISC and tested the new one. All of the coils check out and the motor moves when a 6vbattery is applied. When I remove the ISC plug the car begins a violent idle surge, so I am pretty sure the ISC is working.

I have replaced the Oring on the BISS. When I screw the BISS all of the way in and remove the ISC plug, the car will only drop to 1300 RPM so excess air is getting in somewhere.

I do not have any intake/boost leaks.
The TPS is working/set correctly
The EGR is blocked off.

I have my throttle body coolant lines disconnected, but the car ran fine at one point with these lines disconnected, so I do not believe they are the source of the problem unless the FIAV somehow changed over time.

I am running a 2G MAS with a Keydiver chip tuned to my injectors and MAS setup. The car runs great besides this stalling problem.

Any ideas? I am about out. :(

Thanks,
Chris

From your description I'm guessing a 1G but until you update your profile I can't help you much. One quick question, have you checked your speed sensor in the speedo? If it's bad the car will ofter shall between shifts and rolling to a stop.

No, the BOV is not venting to atmosphere.
I updated my profile; thanks for alerting me.

I have not checked the speed sensor; Considering my cruise stopped working a while ago, this may very well be the problem. How do I check/replace this part? I can't find alot of information regarding it.

Last, how would this explain the inability to get the non ISC controlled idle below 1300 RPMS?

Thanks,
Chris

I think I may have figured it out with some research. I am guessing it is my open FIAV screwing up the idle, causing surge and stalling. I have my coolant line looped so I will try to hook it up and see what happens. Wish me luck.

egr valve? this caused my car to stall when I was idle. and check the connector that connected all the injectors too the main harness, the connector is right near the fuel rail, I had a lose connection, but this problem caused my car to lose power, going dropping the rpms down to 1500 even when i was WOT since I guess a few injectors weren't getting power. But if yours only does it at idle I guess thats not your problem...but just in case its real simple to check...just wiggle the plug a bit.

I started a new thread since I fixed at least one of my problems and have some new information. For this one, reconnecting the TB coolant lines fixed the idle surge and inability to drop RPMs below 1300 with no ECU control. The bad thing is it has aggravated my stalling problem.

The EGR is blocked off, and since I can get my RPMs to 700 with no ECU control, I don't think any air is getting past the block off plate.
