Just got a new bit of code for my ECU (stock ECU, but using the Ostrich realtime chip emulator) and I'm pretty keen to have a play with it this coming Sunday at the latest drag race tournament here in Okinawa. I had been using a normal launch control code on my ECU set at 5,500 on the street and 5,200-5,400 at the circuit (the drag "strip" is more akin to an ice rink most of the time. But my new setup now has 3 launch control values. I can have one for when I'm stationary, and then 2 at set speeds and rpm values. The idea is to slightly limit acceleration in order to minimize wheelspin. As I'm not running drag radials this could be pretty handy.
Just wondered what people thought I should go for in regard to the other 2 speed/rpm combinations for the launch control. To give you some idea, the guy who made the code and who does hill climbs & sprints with his Evo has it set at the following:
4500rpm/3mph (stationary)
5000rpm/12mph
5500rpm/15mph
I appreciate any thoughts on this one.
