Washington,
Hi all,

I have searched but have only found diy's with a 16g install or FMIC install separately. I have also been told by a respected member that knows his stuff that I do not need the install kit but I just want to be 100% before i drain the fluids and whatnot. Well- I have an SSAC FMIC that came in the other day and I also have an evo 16g that I need to install. I have a few questions here:

ebay kit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m=190162491161&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:MT:11

-I have the ebay 2g evo3 install kit, but with the FMIC kit do i still need the 2 jpipes that it comes with?
-Does anyone have a link to a DIY of an install like what I'm about to get myself into?
-Assuming that I return the ebay install kit- what else would I need besides a new oil feed line and washers/gaskets/bolts to install this turbo?

My main question has to do with the install kit used with a 16g/evoIII turbo install with an FMIC thrown into the mix. Do I need it still?

Hey man, when are you going to do the install? I don't have experience with the ebay install kit, but I have installed my own e316g. I'd be willing to come over and lend a hand as long as you will be working on the car on a weekend. To be honest, installing an fmic is cake and is the least of your problems.

Keep in mind that a lot of people will say that you don't need the install kit and they are right to an extent. Mostly what they mean is that you can 'build' your own kit.

I will probably do the install next weekend as I am out of town for work tomorrow (I work for the government). I may stall the FMIC install tomorrow. I have done a bunch of turbo builds and engine builds but never on a DSM. The lesson I have learned from the past is that asking questions first saves hours and days of time rather then waiting till install time. I will PM you when I do the install. I got two other members that will come by to help as well. ;)

Woohoo, thanks! That's what I was looking for :)

Thanks again friend. I already have an hks evc 4 but it's a pos. I ended up hooking my manual "joe p mbc" up that I had left over from my corvette (sts twin turbo '02 z06). I will get a Greddy boost controller soon as I've always had good luck with those on all my turbo builds.

I have the same setup as you EIII 16 and SSAC FMIC. 974g63 is right, you should be all set. The only thing I can think of is I had to trim my lower intercooler pipe to get it to fit. Nothing to drastic though.
