I just received my ss clutch line from dsm parts earlier today, and was wondering how much of the line it replaces. I was thinking it would just be the little rubber section, but the length of the line I received makes me think otherwise. I thought I remember reading somewhere that it replaces the thing attached to my transmission that has a line going in and a line going out, but I don't know.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

There is two different kinds of ss clutch line. One replaces the line from the master cylinder to the slave. The other one replaces the rubber hose that is right by your slave cylinder. Its about 2 feet long. I do believe its not anything longer than that. Hope that helps you out

Yea, I have the one that is only two feet. I figured it out tho- It does remove the thing mounted to the transmission. My only question now is where on the slave do I connect the ss line? Do I take the bronze thing off, or leave it on?

its pretty obvious once you take a look at your stock stuff.

it removes the accumulator and the lines attached to it up to the slave cylinder banjo bolt. watch out for where the accumulator line connects to the fitting by the fuse box, easy to strip. use a line wrench.

Digging this back up from the dead, but I'm in need of some help installing my SS clutch line. I'm a little confused as to how to remove the flare nut on the stock hardline that attatches to the accumulator. If I try to turn the nut, the hard line turns with it and I don't want to crimp or break the line. Am I supposed to be holding with pliers something on the other side of the bracket as I turn the flare nut or just loosen the flare nut and the rubber line on the other side will come off too?

The hardline shouldn't turn. If I remember right there is a nut underneith the bracket where they connect to put another wrench on to stop it from turning. Make sure to douse it with pb blaster or another penetrant.

This is how it goes: Hardline-Flare Nut-Black Bracket- Some other nut that screws into the hardline flare nut- stock rubber hose.

Even when I have huge pliers on the rubber lines nut (LOL) and using another wrench to turn the hardline nut, the hardline starts to twist. I dont' wanna turn it and break it, then I'm ####ed.
