Squeaking rear wheel only in reverse

In my 97 AWD I have recently noticed a squeaking noise coming from the driver's side rear wheel area, but only in reverse. I was thinking it was the bearing or hub assy, but wouldn't that squeak going forward too? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Mine did sqeak too. 10% linings left on the pads. $450.00 job on a complete rear brake service..

..but got new rotors out of this.

Try this. If pad not excessively worn sand with 100 grit paper. Place paper (grit up) on flat surface and press pad down against it rubbing back and forth. Then clean rotor and pads with brake cleaner.

You can just rub them on a cement floor. That's what I always do and it works good as long as you have a fairly flat floor with cement that isn't too smooth or too rough.

Make sure all brake pad hardware and shims are in place. Squeals come from vibration and the shims and hardware are meant to hold the pads securely in place preventing vibration.
