Sputtering and Check Engine Light

Hey wassup. I started noticing that my car has been sputtering alot recently almost everytime wether i mash the gas or not. I also was driving my car today and the check engine light came on. Im lost ### i dont know wats goin on anymore!!! Any advice wud b greatly appreciated.....

You need to make a boost leak tester and check for leaks. I bought my 90 Gsx and had the same issue did all of the proper maintenance still did it did a leak test and the hose connectiing to the intercooler had cracked. Got a new one and it was fine. Another thing you could do is check to see if all your plugs are firing and also the injectors. But def. do a boost leak test

Scan the obd2 port & see what code comes up for the check engine light.

First things first, you gotta do a boost leak test. Second, I would buy new plugs and wires. Things like this always give a good reason to do so. Could be an injector failed. Does it sound like all 4 cylinders are firing?

Clean the throttle body... i had a bad "sputtering" problem and it worked wonders.

Scan the obd2 port & see what code comes up for the check engine light.

^^ +1 don't worry about doing a boost leak test until you figure out what the CEL is saying, just go to any Autozone or Kragen and they can scan it for you for free. don't waste your time on other tests until you look at what is causing it. Usually CEL codes are the best thing that can happen when a problem arises. 99% of the time it tells you the general area to look.

Like stated the CEL is on for a reason. You have a problem, it tells you what the problem is. What's hard about that?
