Safc and check engine light?

I just installed my safc. I have not touched a single setting on the controler yet, the wiring is correct with the diagram I used. Now the check engine light is on and the car falls on its face at any more then quarter throttle? Has anyone had this happen with them?

double check all the wiring, also make sure all the connections are tight, and make sure you do the initial setup of the safc if it is a safc2 I dont know about the the older ones.

I changeed the style of connecter that I used and it worked fine. THankyou for the help
