Sputter at 3k

When cruising (usually around 3k Rpms) it sputters a bit. Only when giving it gas. With no gas or throttle, no problem. Just sounds like minor backfires repeatedly.

Still have no problems accelerating or at any other speeds/Rpms. If I'm accelerating it doesn't even do it at all, just when I'm cruising through town just kind of holding my speed.

I dont have tuning software hooked up yet, still trying to fix my obd2 port so dsmlink will connect.

Just wondering if anybody knew the problem (and/or fix) off the top of there head and maybe I could do something about it before I got dsmlink working.

first thing i would do is a leak down test look for boost/vaccum leaks!!

X2 ive had this problem to but only at boost it sputtered and i changed my plugs and wires and it was fixed

I hanged my wires and that helped. I i didn't change the plugs cause they were new themselves. If it was a plug wouldnt it happen all the time and not just at a low Rpm?

Boost leak, could be coil pack, boost leak, check your plugs anyway pull them and look at them. Do you have any cels?

what plugs are you using? and x2 on the cel light.

You're right that if it was plugs, misfiring would be all the time or sporadic, and unlikely to be rpm based. Are you sure you aren't seeing it under heavy acceleration? Though if hanging your plug wires helps, I'd check the plug wires and their contacts out.

It still seems a bit odd to me, because I would have originally looked for a boost leak with what you described, not plugs or plug wires... Just in case, you might also make sure all of your pipes are tightened down, especially if you've worked on them recently. Who knows, you might have more than one thing going on.

Also do you see this sputter under heavier loads? Does it do it under light loads (downhill)
