Ok, there is a 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi for sale for $2,300 and the discription is this: "1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD, 5spd, 149k miles on body, spun rod bearing, slightly modded, fresh tires and brakes, all new timing components, clean motor."....

Now, for that ammount of money, for a car with a spun rod bearing, is it worth it? Just wondering because from what I have read, you can't tell unless you can see....

Thanks.

This is just me but I wouldn't pay more then about 1500 for it, depending whats done to it?

Are you asking for what is done to it or ....? I'll reply anyway...

The guy didn't say anything... All I can tell from the pictures is exhaust, plug wires, MAYBE intake, exposed cam gears...

Other then that, I would have to text the guy asking...

I agree thats pretty high. 1500 would be max I would pay assuming that its really clean. As far as easy to fix, your going to end up doing a complete rebuild to do it right. Also its a 95 so did the crank walk? If it did, from my undersanding if it walked bad it could have torn up the block which means a new block. I'm still new to DSM and know even less about the 2g's so someone correct me if Im wrong on that crank walk thing.

If it helps (I don't expect it to), here is the link to the sale: 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD

Don't you just love people who post things on Cragislist? :)

Be careful. You know a spun rod bearing (usually #2 or #3) is the infamous crankwalk problem?

I did not know that... *I'm still learing about DSM's...*

I picked up a similar car with what they think is a spun rod bearing but its an Auto for $600. You have to figure that you will be putting about $1000 or more into fixing the issue depending on how you go about it up to $2000. Just have to look at what you would pay for the car if it didnt need work, see what the cost of the work is and decide.

Yeah, right now I am getting despirate... I almost went and picked up a 1g TSi for $100 but there wasn't a title so not a legit deal... Man I need a 2g GSX/TSi soon....

Well keep looking for them there are always ones for sale. Unless you want to dump a bunch of money into the car right away I would find a decent running one to start with.
