springs for the strip

i pull a 1.6 60ft now, on stock springs, and struts, if i were to cut the springs a bit to lower the car, would that affect my 60ft time? would the car bottom out? he rear tires prooly come pretty close to rubbing now as it is, but im not sure, or what if i went with aftermarket lowering springs? would the help, or make my 1/4 mile time slower?

i think thats alll your going to get if you think you can pull 1.6 60' times with cut springs

Lowering an AWD car properly is tricky to do properly. Lowering AWD DSM's isn't necessarily healthy for some vital parts of the drivetrain either. Cutting your stock springs would be foolish and probably one of the most wrong ways to go about lowering your center of gravity. If you want to experiment with lowering your stock suspension, consider the coil spring clamps available @ Advance Auto Parts or other auto parts stores that carry accessories. These clamps work just like a coil spring compressor just in a smaller fashion. They are cheap, effective, and they are REVERSIBLE. I don't recommend doing this and keeping them all the time. However, you can go back to stock if you wanted to without the cost. Cost you around 25 bucks to experiment with this, without the harsh cutting and also less labor. Although in my opinion I'd say lowering your stock suspension isn't going to give you much of a loss of 60' times. What are you launching @? Dumping or slipping the clutch? Reaction times? Work with yourself before your car. 1.6 second 60' time is not horrible @ all. Look @ it this way, Average to my knowledge is around 1.7-1.8 in stock form. So consider yourself better than average.
