Thats kool, but i think it might be a bit far for some of us WV DSMr's to drive. Does anyone know of any good areas in Fredricksburg VA? I'm still leanin to the Woodbridge/Dale City area.

It really depends on the number of cars. None of the local parks around here that I know of have shelter area parking, so that idea would be a bust. If we wanted to all meet up someplace and grab food, that would work, I'd suggest hooters but the parking lot is tiny and it'd be impossible for us to all park together, and the only neighboring lot is a hotel that might throw a fit if we are hanging out there at all. I know of one guy that owns a thai restaurant that probably wouldn't mind us hanging there, not a huge parking lot, but there's room for a decent amount of cars. Don't know how well his restaurant would take to a big crowd though, as it's not really the type of place for that. Might be able to find an empty-ish area near cheeseburger in paradise if people wanted to do that, then hit up the place for some lunch. I'll keep thinking.

Well i went to two areas today. Both of them would suite our needs pretty well. Both are only a mile or two off I-95 or Route 1. Both of the areas are County parks so no alcoholic beverages allowed haha.

Spot A - Veterans Park
Has parking area for 50 or so cars but then has another piece of road (about 50 feet) attached to it that has another 50 spaces. Then Across from it. It has a picnic area that could sit about 30 or so people under the shelter and then more around it.

Spot B - Andrew Leitch Park (AKA Waterworks)
Has a parking area in front that can hold about 60ish cars it looked like and then there is an open soccer field next to it. So we would have to supply tables and chairs in this case. Then behind the pool there is a bigger spot that can hold probably 80 to 100ish cars and has a 2 part pavilion beside it.

Spot A would be the more ideal i would think because it's tucked away off the main road. So we would attract considerably less unwanted attention from people passing by.

I like the way spot "A" sounds. Yea Roanoke is that far of a drive from me, I was thinking more about the peeps in the Morgantown area that might wanna show up. Dont let me stop ya from finding out about places out there. Let us know what you find out qwik-gst and HighPSI. I think that we should have a place decided in the next week or two?

Just sent a pm to prostreet. I'll let everyone know what he says. If its a go, I guess I'll leave it up to a vote on where to hold the meet, but I feel we should have a location permanent in the next week. Hopefully it would give enough people a decent heads up.

I vote for woodbridge. Though I wouldn't mind F-burg either seeing as I live there!

im fine with whatever, but there is a few options around the morgantown area,
coopers rocks: very secluded, lots of parking, lots of seats, state park with trails and views
2-3 city parks: plenty of parking, closer to food if we dont want to bring our own
2-3 shopping areas: parking, but will attract lots of attention.

just ideas, not trying to take away from anywhere else, or make people drive too far

There is a park that is right off 123 across from occoquan. You drive down a long road before you get to the spaces and there is plenty of room there. also since its off the main road not alot of attention will be made, but im not sure of the name.

Those spots sound kool, maybe sometime we could get a WV meet in the summer. Still no response from Prostreet with VIP. Does anyone know of another way to get a hold of someone at VIPgarage?

Alright so if we can get a confirmation that its okay at VIP I think that we should just go there. Sound fair?? And dont let this page die out. Also once we get a confirmation on the spot, we need to get the date situated and also a head count.

I just got off the phone with Marti at VIP. He said that there lease would be up in a couple of months so they have to figure some things out (I'm guessing renegotiating the lease or finding a new location). He said for me to touch bases with him next week and he'll have a definate answer for us.

Thats kool that you got a hold of Marti. I have tried a couple of times and wasnt able to get a hold of him. Hopefully they can get thier lease situation worked out. If VIP isnt available does one of the parks around the Woodbridge area sound good? Hopefully I will have my DSM back on the road by then.

Hey guys im new to the DSM world But if i'm welcome i would love to come to the meet.. sounds like a good place to hang out and get together with others that have the same interests. I just bought my DSM from a friend and I love it .. dont know why I didnt do it sooner. I live in Maryland so might need directions if the meet is in VA or DE.

Well i just went to VIP yesterday to buy a manifold to turbo gasket. I looked the lot over I don't think there is no way we could have a meet there. There is no parking as it is. I couldn't even park in a parking space when i got there. even if it was empty we could only get 20 cars at the most probably. I think going with the Park would be the best choice so far.
