spray painting your car?

I had the idea of maybe spraypainting my car black it's burgandy right now anyone know how or techniques anyone could tell me about?

spray p[aint as in from the can? well just look at sport compact car's project sylvua, there's a flat balck car for ya.

as for really spraying it, bring it to a paint shop

Dont do it, you will not like it trust me.....take some time...look into what type of black you want...read some books ask to watch some guys at your local body shop sprey a car...buy some tools....trust me it will only run you about 400$ to do it your self if you shop around and get some good deals. We already had the tools and it cost me 150$ to sprey my car white and black...make sure you do really good prep work..and also get them dents out...they show up really well with fresh paint

The ammount it will cost to buy that much paint you can get buy a gallon of cheep black and a spray gun for less.

mine is spray painted with black primer right now cause i had a bunch of bare metal showing after i shaved everything and done the body kit thing. it dont look that bad at night but its only temporary. if your serious about making it look good then spray paint is not the ticket.

As for painting don't spray paint ... as stated before it would cost less just to buy the right paint and the gun and do it. If you have no place to do it then just do the prep work and take it to maako or a place like that. They're doing my talon for $400 if I prep it. It will look 10000000 times better than spray paint.

actually i am driving it around like that because i dont have a garage full of cars to drive to work and the paintjob thats going on it is gonna cost a little more than a couple hundred bucks. like i said, its temporary. its not like i love sporting the black primer. dont have much of a choice right now.

i got all the paint and supplies for 300 bucks took me a weekend to paint it up and everything......not that bad

I've seen a few "temporary" spray paint jobs that came out okay......they just don't last. They fade quick and end up looking very bad. :thumbdown

Just to add.....this girl around here that I absolutely HATE painted her car pink with a paint brush. That's not all! She put glitter in her hand and blew it on the wet paint! I'm not even joking! bad thing about it......it was a 1gen Eclipse! She should get her a$$ beat just for doing that (although I can think of many other reasons )!
