Split balance shaft bearing..Use it??

I've completed the balance shaft removal. The picture of the bearing is from the front balance shaft. This bearing is the one that you have to use the actual balance shaft to pound in deep in the block. There is not going to be anything rotating in the bearing. This is the second one that has split on me. The remained of the bearing is in perfect condition. Has anyone had this happen to them. If so have you used it in the motor. It was a real pain to get in, so I can see how it would work it self out. Let me know what you guys think. I planing to use it and put the motor back in the car tomorrow.

That happened to me when i didn't use oil to install it.

I just finished my balance shaft elimination and I had the same problem. I went through 2 bearings splitting before I finally got one in just right. I would not use that bearing if its split, I understand all its going to be doing is blocking an oil hole but the chances of that thing falling into my bottom end is something i am not willing to take. Mine kept splittin because of the socket I used to install them, the 32mm i used had just enough taper that the bearing would actually open up instead of sliding into its hole. What i did was use the socket to lightly tap it in so it was just started its way in, then i bought a thick washed and a 12" bolt and two nuts to tap it in the rest of the way. Make sure it is going in square and not cockeyed or it will just split again.
