Okay so working on my car. 95 gst. I am changing my interior from leather to grey cloth, installing boost and temp gauge. Rewiring my fuel pump and stuff. Anyone have any tips or opinions on tucking wires and cleaning up the engine bay some. Just looking for some info and thoughts. Also when I started driving this car the speedo didn't work right I figured it was the sensor. So I took a known good ss from another gst I had and swapped it in but its still not working right. I can be going 120 and it only reads like 60 mph. Anyone else have this problem. The car it came off of had 235/40/17s and these are 225/45/17s not much difference so I don't thinks its due to wheel tire size. What do I need to test or look for in trying to fix this problem. It would be nice to know how fast I am going. Any help appreciated thanks.
Also would like to do an emission delete. So any info on that would be great thanks.

Check out my thread on engine bay cleaning. Lots of great advice from members here and you can see my before and after pics just from a simple wire tuck and throttle cable tuck tthat they suggested.

Re-route the wires to hide the bulk of it. Not a real wire tuck but it was easier and faster way to do it until your ready for a true wire tuck

Also I dont think you wanna delete all that evap/emissions shit till you have a way to stop the ecu from checking for it. i.e. DSMLINK

Will do thanks.

Relocate that ground off the valve cover! OMG

I will. I am gonna try and clean up all that as best I can and find new places to set the two extra grounds I ran.

Honestly it doesn't really matter about the check engine light to me. I don't have inspections here and I can always check the ecu for codes every now and then to make sure no extras have shown up but I'll prob will leave that alone till I get the link.

Also I still have the problem with the speedometer. It reads real slow sometimes it seems to read better than other times but its always at least 30 mph or more under what I'm really running. I changed the speed gear with a good used one I had and it does the same thing. Could my gauge be bad? And also I hooked up my boost gauge last night but idk if it is broken or my routing is wrong. I routed it in with the vacuum line for the fps like it was on my other car but the gauge doesn't even move at all.

either way didn't make the gauge do anything at all.

i just started having the speedo problem today but mine quit working. i was showing 30mph while i was doing 45, then it started fluttering around between 5 and 15 then died completely. i haven't a clue what it could be. if it was fuse wont have shown anything. let me know what you come up with.
About the boost gauge try hooking it up to the FPR vac line thats a common spot if it dont work there its probably bad, if all else is fine.
a quick way to check also is disconnect the vac line from the back of the gauge if it has air sucking in or blowing out it probably is the gauge i would think.

It was my cluster that was bad causes the speedo to read slow. And the boost gauge is hooked up where the fps was. I took my fps out now. But I opend the gauge and it is broken which I figured since I dropped it. As for how you described what happened with your speedo sounds like either your cluster died or you speedo gear on your trans came unplugged(this has actually happened to me a few times now). If the fuse blew you would have lost more than just the speedo.

Easy way to check if either your cluster or speed gear is bad is if you have cruise control. If you have cruise, try and use it. If your speedometer is bad and speed gear is good you will still be able to use cruise control. Cruise I believe is available after 20 mph. Also another way to check is if your odometer is work. If your odometer is working and the speedo isn't then your cluster is bad. If it isn't work then its not getting the speed signal fro the speed gear on the trans. Which would mean the gear is bad or has a connection problem.
