Firstly I'd like to thank the guys at "the speed factor" for doing business with me. The Spec Stage 2+ is a phenomenal device. The pedal pressure is perfect and the engagment is firm and precise. Definitely a quick biter!

But I'm experienceing a lot of chatter when going in and out of first and second gear. Is this normal for a clutch of this design? My mechanic told me the clutch is essentially a "paddle" clutch, which I'm sure is something like "puck" in V8 terms. Anyways, he's kinda right the design is aggressive while still maintaining a good level of streetability.

Is my chatter a result of an aggressive clutch? is there something I can do to help the issue? and most important is it detrimental to my crank/drivetrain to ahve it chatter (lots) almost everytime I'm in and out of first gear?

Thanks!

My Spec stage 3 does the same thing, only on deceleration though. So I just put it in neutral and then I don't hear it. :)

How long have you ahd yoru clutch? mines been broken in now for at least 1000 miles. I keeping hoping the chatter will just go away one day..
I'm positive such violent vibration can't be any good for my tranny/crank.

How many miles are on yours? I have over a 1000 on mine as well. I don't see how adjusting the pedal would affect it that much...Mine engages about 1/3 up from the floor I'd say, and my master is adjusted almost all the way out.

By now? probably 1200 - 1400 miles.
Well the thing was, the clutch was engaging nicely where it was, and i had about 2 inches of free play at the top too. Sounds good right?
Well I moved my floor mat to find out the stroke of my clutch was about 3 inches further than I had been previously utilizing.

I moved my mat out of the way and adjusted it further down. Now I have more freeplay uptop (meh) but it engages more smoothly. I believe it was a combination of that and the further break in that made my chatter dissipate into a once-in-a-while-if-i-slip-it-wrong kind of thing.
