ok so today i went and bought new plugs and wires for my eclipse. after getting home to do the work i realized i had six wires. i thoguht at first i had bene given the wron set, until i lloked closely adn realized that two of the wires were different. one was about a foot long and both ends had the smae boot, the one that plugs into the cap. the other was longer but also had the smae kind of cap on both ends-the kind that (look like it) goes into the cap and not to the plugs. i looked to see if there were any other wires coming from the cap but i didnt see any. does any one know where these wires go?

take them back and get a different set. There are brands that make wires specifically for our cars. I use Accel Thundersport #7920B.

on my old car they did the same thing to me, they gave me 2 extra plugs for my coil.

yea i know there's only four wires that go from the cap to the plugs but im wondering if there are wires connecting the cap to something else?

they probably gave you the wrong wires. I wouldn't trash them though. I'd take them back to the place you got them and demand a refund(you did keep the receipt right?). Anyways here is a great post about spark plug wires.

according to them, go with the msd's if you don't want to shell out the 90 bucks, go with either the Accel's $70ish, or even the Taylor's $55ish. Prices are from slowboyracing.com
Of course I'm referring to 8mm plug wires as well. Good luck

Haha. This brings up an interesting idea. Go to the auto parts store and tell them you have a V-8. That way, you use 4 of them, and you have 4 left over for next time. Whether you buy 4 or 8, they are roughly the same price. ROFL
