Long story short, when I bought my project car, the guy gave me all the bolts he kept in little coffee can things. Well tomorrow i'm going to be bolting up my transmission to my block and want to make sure I'm using the right bolts. This is the first time I'll be using any bolts the guy gave me so I'm a little skeptical about the organization ;)

These bolts were together in what was labeled "Trans bolts"

But don't match what is shown here. It's missing the long skinny bolt and has that smaller bolt instead.

And this is what was inside the can labeled "trans case"

And as you can see there are a lot more than what's shown here.

But it looks like the skinny one i was missing for the trans might have been put in the one labeled trans case, which would look like this.

So basically I guess I'm asking is this, can you guys decipher which bolts are actually for the trans and which are for the trans case just by looking at these pictures and from personal experience? I dont care if I have to go to the store to buy bolts I'm missing I just want to make sure I'm getting the right ones so I don't fubar this install(which will be my first time). Anyways, thanks for any help you can give me gents.

Assuming you have a 5-speed, you need (2x) 70mm long bolts and (3x) 130mm long bolts for the transfer case. It looks like you've got the 130mm long bolts and maybe only one of the 70mm long bolts. For the auto t-case, there is (4x) 70mm long bolts and (2x) 130mm long bolts: Transfer Case Bolt Kit (1G & 2G DSM Auto Trans) : JNZ Tuning

The group of bolts you've put together for the transmission appear correct.

Yeah make sure u get the factory bolts. I had a issue taking mine apart (transfercase) becuase the person before me used non oem bolts. The problem I had was that the heads were a little bigger which made it a pain to get a socket on them becuase of clearance issues and I dont think they torqued them properly.

Please check bolts numbered 2&3 on the first picture to bolts numbered 1&2 on the second picture. It's hard to figure out which is which in a picture, but the longer two will be your starter bolts, and the shorter two will be for the two on spots on the top of the transmission to block.

Otherwise, they should be listed correctly.
