Regina,
nothing to serious, but sometimes it just takes a little longer than other times to start, sometimes u have to turn i over for a while before u can hear it start to fire up, and usually when it has sit for a while it srtats ut then struggles for a couple seconds at like 400-500 then it will just die, then the next turn over it will fire up first try and run fine. any thaughts or suggestions.

btw - new bpr6es (not gapped), new ngk wires, new k&n, cleaned out the intercooler and pipes but just with water, a new starter, and a open downpipe if that means anything, i have a new fuel filter in my car but it is not installed yet.

my car has a hard time starting sometimes, but i believe that what i'm dealing with is a fuel delivery problem somewhere. have you modified your fule system in any way?

you might not be getting enough spark since you didn't gap your plugs...

i gap mine at .044 try that and if your still having problems, check you plug wires, check the connections.

hope i helped

I don't agree with that gapping at all. The manual lists the gap for the turbo engines at 0.028 to 0.031, and the plugs come already gapped to that range. That doesn't mean that they aren't off by a little--I always check mine before putting them in. However, 0.044 is way out of spec, unless you're talking non-turbo engine (range = 0.039 to 0.043).

.044 is light years away from where your gap should be. Manual calls for .030-.032 in a turbo'd DSM, but if your decently mod'd then shoot for .028 (gap has tendecy to increase itself overtime in a boosted car).

Gap tends to increase itself over time in any car.

i have the same problem with my other car (mustang), so im curious to what you guys think is wrong. i have fpr, 24lb injectors, fp etc so i thought my fpr was doin it... its almost like the fp isnt priming
