I thought the intercooler piping on the bottom of the intercooler was going to be too close to comfort thinking it might be lower than the bumper lip but it wasnt it fit inside the bumper with no problems.

Wow that's a LOT of piping. like whoa. couldn't you clock the compressor houser or anything, so it pointed down and you could use that bend to get a regular left-to-right sort of progression, instead of having to double back?

If i were to do the side to side route......the piping woud have hit either the fan guards or the downpipe. I say its a real good looking intercooler piping set hehe :D

what do you think is uneeded?
alot of it.. i would have ran it much differently.. ditch the pass. fan and run it right or get a slim fan

i dont understand why people say this way is close to impossible? was rather easy for about 150 bucks at the local hotrod shop. some of the bends are angles welded together, but fits none the less. That is alot of piping.....still a turboed n/t is better than nothing :thumb:

i agree with the excessive piping comments haha as well as the "a turbod n/t is better than nothing" hehe. I'll be there in a month or 2 HOPEFULLY! anyways, i had been wanting to see some pics of your setup, looks good though! congrats

were you talking about my car???? or the dude that started this thread??? eitherway....congrats to everyone who has taking that step.

Dang I try out this little project on the car and everyone starts bashing  . Nah i dont care about the piping. Its fine with me. As long as i get to hear the bov and my car boosting nothing else matters. so im cool

The piping was the hardest part of this build. I was either blowing holes in it trying to weld the pipes together, or we didnt have the right size couplers, or pipes were hitting misc parts. Major pain. But im happy that its done and the owner likes the end result.

edit: Pete, quite trying to pretend youre the owner :p . black4banger is one of my friends and he doesnt own the car. Its for someone that doesnt post here.

Here we go, air- try to find the intake valves!

And that's what really counts.

This is not Pete. This is Joe-owner of the car. He gave me the id and password for black4banger which is my car.

oh OK. I know Pete was posting under it when we were doing the install, didn't know he gave it to you. Hope you like the turbo :D

if its a blowoff you want to hear they sell a kit you can mount to any car that has an electric recording that is hooked up to your gas pedal and everytime you let off, well you get the mock blowoff sound, great for impressing the ladies, and you'll be sure to save on fuel costs and that motor too!!

ah here you go.... :D
Maximum horsepower sound with the small price.....

congrats on the install... looks ok, but If you think about it, you could lose some piping with that. If i were you, i'd run a 90* bend towards the pass. side from the turbo, then a 90* down towards the bottom of the engine, then route it from there..

this makes for ALOT less piping.

good job none the less.

and, L2R, did you notice that the original posters turbo is clocked upright? whereas the prostreet one is downfiring?

I didn't notice that until you metioned it, since it works now, I would figure out a way to clock it facing down, whether that means getting a slim fan or something.

just for reference, I did a quick MSpaint job on what i was talking about, goodluck!

Just thought about it, even if you run it the way I suggested, It's the hot pipe from the turbo, so it won't really matter about it being so close to the manifold/head

while we COULD have done that, we only had some premade bends from Jegs to work with and that piping route just wasn't possible. We didn't have any way to get it to an exhaust shop for the bends and they would have all been crush bent anyways.

That's a good idea, plus you can always fab a heat shield for the manifold/turbo.
