First post here, bought a 98 gs-t, drove it for a week or two, and now whenever I give any sort of throttle for around 10 seconds it leans out and starts missing/sputtering. The problem started when I came out from work to a dead battery (my mistake, left the lights on for 12 hours LOL) jumpstarted it, let it warm up, and hooned it out of the parking lot. If it starts missing, I have to clutch it and let it idle for a second before resuming acceleration. If it sees boost, I can give it throttle longer, but it still misses. It does have lifter tick, and for some reason that's what I think is causing it (some kind of sensor freaking out) it's also throwing a code, but I dont have access to a reader for a couple of weeks, and by that time the revised lifters I ordered will be in, so I plan on replacing them and seeing if that fixes it. When the car starts missing, the engine starts shuddering. Any ideas on whether it could be anything else?

Could be a number of things but I'd start with new spark plugs and wires. I had this same issue when I first bought my dsm and it turned out to be the spark plug wires.

Get the code. No point doing anything else first.

Update. Pulled the codes, got random/multiple misfire. Cleared them, and the engine started running fine. Haven't had a problem again for the past two days. Not sure what caused it, but I have changed the plugs, have a set of wires, and changed the lifters/lash adjusters. Thanks for the help

Yeah, but none of the old ones were fouled, or looked like they were running too lean/rich. I still ended up getting wires, but haven't put them on yet, and literally just got done doing the lifters.
