The implication of a "fix" implies he has identified the problem and has the proof to back it up.

I haven't seen any evidence of that in these posts.

The thread should just be locked, all information about his number/contact info is here. Since the person who has the fix will not post, why bother with this thread any more when all that is going on is bickering. If he decides to post he can open a new thread.

Yeah and if you ask me bearing failure should be pretty simple to figure out.

1. Lack of Lubrication

2. Incorrect Clearances

3. Foreign object

I think a reason ALOT of the rebuild 7 bolt's walk is simply assembly error.

I agree 100%

In an effort to end this thread on a bit of fun and light-heartedness, these are the same 3 reasons I broke up with one of my girlfriends. :D

[Here's hoping the doctors could get that object back out of you OMG ]

Funny, you click on the link to see "how they solved crankwalk" and the page is blank.

This has been posted numerous times, and there has been no indefinate fix to a crankwalking engine. Just search their name on here.

nope, but i did call and got a price on that...and lets just say that its cheaper doing a 6 bolt swap. and you cant just buy the crank and bearings, you need to buy the block too. theres special machine work that goes into the block, to keep the crank from walking.

In comparison to a 7 bolt they are perfect, and are also the perfect replacement for a crankwalked 7 bolt, so your opinion of what is and what is not perfect is subjective.

The fact is, 7 bolts have a very high chance of crankwalk vs. a 6 bolt with a very low chance so for somebody like my self who will likely be forced to swap in a 6 bolt next year, it's close enough to perfect for me.

Since were raising the dead here, since this post my motor DID crankwalk and I bent a shift fork in my trans. So I now have a built 6 bolt in the car with a Magnus trans.

I almost predicted the crankwalking of my motor. It was out far enough I could move it with a screwdriver and watch it go back and forth. The car ran fine though and wen't low 12's before I pulled it out. Many people saying they don't have crankwalk that the car is fine are joking themselves. Chances are you do have it and don't know it because you havn't measured the end play.. LOL!

How much was the price?

I had mark build my motor. I already feel like a dumb ass for saying that cause you guys are on such a witch hunt in here you all probably think I'm dumb.

I called mark, he sounded overly educated, I don't believe any thing pushin_gsx had to say. This guy sleeps eats and shits firing orders (what a low blow) just talking with him he knew the internal specs of the 1st 2nd and 3rd gen lifters as well as Jackson's big bore lifters and parts dinosaurs lifters. I thought to myself "what a freak".

The man knows his stuff, his shop is gigantuan, he has been working at that business for his grand father for the last 40 years (opened up in the 30's) he recently took over the company 15 years or so ago.

I haven't got my motor from him yet but I am very confident in the engine I am getting. Forged bottom end, ported/polished head, 1mm oversized valves, balanced/blue printed, completely assembled with engine break in and cams degree'd. Great price, 2 years warranty, lifetime warranty on crankwalk.

I would ask mark to come post in the forums but for what purpose? He's a bust guy and Doesn't need to sit on the stand and get ripped on by shade tree mechanic who obviously outsources jobs cause he can't do his own work and probably installed a customers engine wrong.

Mark is a good guy to talk to, he does value his time though. You want to call him you can find his contact info at www.overbore.com

Another cool thing about overbore is you can call and ask technical questions straight to the source, when I informed mark that he was competeing with a reputable DSMTuners shop he laughed and said there was no compitition. He simply tpld me to call the shop and ask them questions about the machining process and the kid on the other end of the phone tried to feed me alot of bullshit. Why? Because they send all there work next door to habib's motor builders and they don't have any idea what or how it's done.

Later.

well here is a little responce to some of the posts i have just read, before you condemn someone or want to knock them down do your homework. there is a lot of good engine builders & machine shops out there and i am one of them, as far as some of the slang i have read on here grow up. one other thing to remember is an engine that has been rebuilt or modified is no better than the guy/shop installing it . we have no control over the tuning, set up all the mods that people add onto them or the driving habits of the owners. :dsm:
for every failure there is a lesson learned, and i have made mistakes had failures,I am only human. i have been doing imports / engines longer than most of you and i have a whole lot more experience and equipment :D , we sub out nothing! we also have another shop in Montreal where we do all of our nitriding and other metal treatments. ; also the reason the page is blank i am waiting for my pattent. I know how many slickies are out there but most shops do not have the set up we have , come and visit me !! feel free to email me

You seriously DO NOT want my opinion on that place. I was there before they even had the website.

Here : http://www.sjdsm.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=1396

I am now a member here, this site should have parental controls for the children on here :thumb: . whoever you are if you were truthful and really at my shop you would have not made that statement.
so after reviewing your link at sjdsm maybe we should let the people know the ENTIRE story?????
I am not here to make anyone look bad and wont. but make sure you tell the entire story .
