so i went to adjust the clutch and i cant?

im pretty sure im doing it right i watch the video and everything so im looking some info all i have to do is loosen that one nut and the rod should turn right or wrong? because with the nut loose i cannot turn the rod.... what am i doing wrong?

cant turn it either way... also i got under the and cant puch or pull anything on the slave witch leads me to believe my problem is the adjustment......


i only see the one nut thats on the rod?... i tried to look at vfaqs and they dont have a section on clutch? can you either please explain what your talking bout?? or link me to where it is on vfaq?

You may have to use both channel lock pliers and a wrench I am pretty sure thats how I did mine ### two parts were turning. But with you not being able to move it either way with locking nut loose sounds like its just stuck. Gonna to use some pb blaster and more elbow grease.

When I've adjusted mine the rod was hard to turn because the clutch pedal was all the way out. When i pushed the clutch pedal down slightly the tension was taken off the rod and could turn it with my fingertips.

Well it will depend on if your clutch pedal is too tight or too loose. If it's too loose than you will want to lengthen it by threading it out of the piece attached to the pedal. IF it's too tight than you will thread it into that.

all i know is i cant push the slave the problem im having is the clutch doesnt come all the way off the floor after being pushed down and i want to adjust the clutch before i bleed it

Bleed it first if it isn't coming up all the way. You are going about this backwards. Get all the air out of the line first than see how it behaves.

If it will not adjust, and the hardware is clean, you need to work the pedal slightly to relieve pressure on the hardware for it to be able to rotate.

You screw the rod into the pedal-side to reduce travel and vice-versa to gain clutch travel.

You'll get it.

Yeah, it will do the same thing with air in the lines. As is said, bleed it first to make sure that there isn't air in the lines. And if there was enough air in there the slave will not move. Do you know how a hydraulic system works. Brake fluid doesn't compress and use transferred thru the lines. When you have air that WILL compress in there than the slave will not receive as much fluid as the master displaces because the air pocket will just compress into a smaller pocket of air.

You are correct, the slave is bolted to the bottom front of the bellhousing.

well i found the right hose.... and dont you need a hose in a bottle so the brake fluid dosent go every where?..... and thats how i read to bleed the brakes and ive also read stuff on here and there all diffrent with how to bleed it.... some say loosen the fitting then push the clutch in tighten and release some say push clutch then loosen release clutch then tighten and some other variants witch one is the right way?

when i was doing mine, it was difficult to turn as well, but i think it had something to do with the limited space under the dash/my crabwalking position and im not a small person... i did have the car on flat ground and out of gear as well...

Yes you can do that. That is the cleanest way but I was just saying it wasn't neccesary to use if you couldn't find one. You can buy a lil bottle with hose that would work. Its for bleeding brakes but works the same for the clutch. Bleed the clutch the same as your brakes. Have someone pump the clutch, then hold it, open valve, and then close it. Repeat until clutch works properly.

so just want to update this i bleed the clutch adn its shifting smooth clutch not sticking or dragging no more griding im soo happppy

Glad it's working for you - even with all the messed up shit you're saying about how to bleed.

So... what about the adjustment? Does your slave push in? Do you have adequate freeplay at the top? Does your clutch drag at high RPMs?

You're not done, son.

yo son i think im good because the day after i posted about not being able to push the slave in i was able to do it maybe i wasnt doing it right the first time... and no more dragging clutch pedal come all the way up i still dont think i got all the air out but its working perfect i love it... i love being able to put it in gear smoothly not grinding reverse im just so happy
