After a shitload of hassles from cops seeing my bigass cannon from behind on my 1gen talon I opted to get something a little more "subtle" in the exhaust/muffler department. Tell me watcha guys think

Damn POS is still loud as fawq but ehhhhh I have less on my mind now knowing it's not all huge and bazooka like hahaha.

Whoa, somebody needs new tires! And nice curb rash. ROFL

Is that a Dyno Max Bullet ? They sound good, just a little loud for daily driving.

haha yeah I've been using these for my daily launching. I have a new set on my stock wheels in the garage. Actually it's just some aftermarket resonator I got @ a muffler shop. How's it look?

looks almost stock, but i think the cops are really looking for that chrome bling-bling on the mufflers.

Exactly. I know it's still pretty damn loud but ehhh @ least I can say hell I think there's a hole in my piping haha.

california is "cracking down" Looks nice! , I just got my thermal cat back put on, I hope I dont get stopped:coy:

This may sound silly from someone from Arkansas, but what are they stopping you for? I mean, if the resonator is really loud, then why remove the muffler, was it louder then what you have replaced it with? Thank God we don't have this sort of problem here...

Yeah,I live in florida and we have virtually no exhaust laws here and if we do...they're not enforced.

I think the resonator with the tip looks just fine.:)

Shows just how f'd up the government is. Wisconsin is strict with Emissions and crap, and places like florida doesn't give a rats ass?

It's tree huggin CA man. Damn stupid environmentalists and crap. But really it's cause most of the cops here are trained to go mainly by the profiling of the car (looks) that's why I chopped off my Apexi N1 muffler off for this so that it's not as flashy. The more flashy the more likely you can get a modified exhaust ticket. I just say my old muffler had a hole in it so I got this one put in haha I can't control the sound sorry officer.

I think I would research the local and state laws, and contact the local police department, if your vehicle is passing emissions for the state, I would think it wouldn't matter what it "looks" like, either that or get it registered and tagged in another state....Or you could just move from Commifornia.....

Ha can't exactly get out just yet. But yeah in CA the cops like to "profile" a lot of people here wether it be ethnic backround or whatnot. Kinda sucks huh that's why it's "nazi cali". Plus here in CA there's up to a 95db rate for exhausts and I'm pretty sure I'm over it. But the cops(just to get money) like to give out fix it tickets for the "modifed exhausts" that have a little bling factor just to be a dick cause they don't want to stop REAL crime cause it costs the gov't money instead of them gaining money. Don't you just love our Gov't?

I got a ticket for having too loud of an exhaust a couple weeks ago. Of course I had just installed a 3" DP and when I took the stock one off I broke the bolts off in the cat so I couldn't very well hook it up to that. So anyways got the ticket the day after I got that on and so I had a custom 3" catback (cat removed) with Magnaflow muffler. Still really loud but not rumbling during regular/normal acceleration and daily driving, but the best part is that it has dual tips so it looks as stock as anything.

Wow I'm suprised Oklahoma has laws like that. I always thought it were the F&TF states like CA, FL, NY, PA hahaha etc. Not hating on the others but those are the biggies.

if its loud as hell youre gonna get stopped, flashy tip or not. theyre not trained to pull over a car cause it has a 4" tip, theyre trained to know if its too loud or not. and running no muffler is gonna do just that.

maybe its just me, but under 3k and 50% throttle my apexi was quiet as hell, sounded just a little louder than the stock hum. wasnt until WOT did it come to life.

Just curious why people would think that Florida would have emmisions laws that are very strict like that. We're a giant peninsula and the entire mass of air above the state is probably new every 3 hours. As far as Decibel level of exhaust,I live in North Florida and most of the cops personal jacked up trucks have louder exhaust than any little streetcar.Half the rednecks around here run open headers anyway, nobody says anything.

I love it here!

Yeah you need to hear the whole story... I wasn't complaining that I got pulled over, I know it was extremely loud. The custom catback was put on AFTER the fact I got pulled over, in hopes that showing a receipt for the exhaust work done would remove my fine. I got pulled over on a Sunday morning. I was planning on having the catback put on that week anyways because I had just gotten paid the previous Friday. What was dumb was the I showed the judge the receipt and he straight up told me that that wasn't proof that it was fixed. I couldn't put it together that replacing the whole thing won't constitute it as being fixed.... I mean the judge read it and stated "Catback Exhaust? I don't even know what that is. But you can't change your car to anything it didn't come with stock." Then his little marshall court buddy chimed with a giggle and said "Oh, I DO! It's definitely not stock." I about popped off and said that every single car from my knowledge comes with a catback exhaust and that all it was was the exhaust piping from the cat (including the cat) back to the muffler tip(s). So I paid my fine and got out of there. That's the story.

Actually bro from my experience, yea cops know when it's loud or not, I never really see cops stop old beat up jenky cars that have a hole in their muffler or piping and it's singing bass tunes to everyone around them. But nonetheless cops like to profile "racers" by their bigass exhaust tips wether it be loud or not cause they see AUTOMATICALLY not even by sound that it's a "modified exhaust"

Wisconsin is not strict on emissions enforcement. Look at all the rusted out POS you see driving around every day with no exhaust systems. We also don’t have to get tested for emissions and safety, so the state never knows if you’re a violator. And i almost never see anyone pulled over for a loud exhaust. Ah, I love Wisconsin. :thumb:

Good thing I'm moving to Wisconsin next year for college :rocks:

actually florida does have emissions laws and they are now being enforced... The law states that any modified exhaust that does not do the job as good as or better than the factory application is illegal to have on the roadways... this means that any muffler that you buy is illegal because they are better on emmisions and gas millage to some extent but are not as good at muffling the sound, so you can and will get a ticket eventually... i have had 4 in the last month, they are just fix it tickets but i like my exhaust and not gonna change it over a few tickets... eventually they will give up because the problem is just to prolific

Has anyone had any luck with painting the exhaust tip with high temp black? I mean if they are in fact looking for the bling then why not cut the chrome out of the equation. I know it looks kind of sleeperish. I dunno just a thought. If I end up having any trouble i might try this route.
