OK, so the other day I as lifting 2 cases of beer out of the back of my SUV and I lifted them out, my arm slipped and I bumped my amp on the top of my subwoofer box and busted off one of the RCA wires.

The little prong thing that comes out at the end is sitll in there, but the black cord is just dangling next to the amp, not on the RCA plug coming out of the amp. Now I'm like great I'm f*&Ked out of this brand new $400 amp so I went and turned on the stereo, it bumps just as hard and I notice no differences whatsoever.

I'm not really knowlegeable on this stuff so I don't really know the importance of RCA wires. Am I going to ruin my amp or sub by doing this? I have an Audiobahn A8000T amp and Kicker solo-baric if it matters. Any ideas on how to get the little prong thing out of the amp if its going to be a problem?

Thanks in advance!

I hate it when that happens. ;) Sounds like you were already drunk when lifting the 2 cases.

Obviously you're gonna have to replace the RCA Cables. Take the fuse from under the hood out before messing with anything, and use a pair of needle nose plyers/tweezers or something to try and get the prong out. Re-run the new RCA's to your head unit.

Usually there will be 2 RCA wires - a red and a white(some manufacturers use different colors). One is for the left channel and the other is for the right. If you only have one sub, this is probably why you arent noticing a difference whereas if you had two subs you would be out one. It shouldnt "ruin" anything, but if you have a live dangling wire I would either cut it and tape it up, or if there is enough slack you can get someone to crimp a new end onto it. If you plan to add a second sub I would get it fixed. Hope this helps.
