Ok I have a 98 gsx. I did a search on how to take off a front bumper. I jacked up the car and pulled back the splash guards. I took off the two bolts on each side (one right by the guard and one right under the side marker). Then I took off the eight bolts I could see that were right under the bumper. Finally I took of the five bolts under the hood. And the damn thing is still pretty tight and not budging. I need help, any diagrams of the bolts, or if anyone knows what im missing please post.

when i tried to take the front bumper off it was a pain in the ass. i did what u did and it still didnt come off. what held it was these 2 bolts ( one under each headlight) that are impossible to get to. just bust them off ( u dont need them cause theres still plenty of support) or u can take out both headlights to get to them and keep them. good luck

What he said, there is 2 plastic bolts under each headlight holding the bumper on. Now the problem is, you cant get to them with the headlights in. But you cant remove the headlights with the bumper on. ### mitsu engineering. There is a bolt on the bottom of the headlight.
you have to break off those 2 plastic bolts under each headlight in order to get the bumper off.
Then to make it easier on yourself next time, take the bottom bolt out of each headlight, and dont put them back in. The 3 bolts on top hold it securely enough.

Those little screws that are under the head lights are securing the bumper to the bumper mount there is an easier way of getting the bumper off without pulling your headlights off and breaking the bottom tab on them. Underneath the car, there are four bolts, two on each side. They are located in the frame, so you will only see them if you are under the car. They are 14 mm. Remove those four bolts, and the whole thing will slide out. No messing with the head lamps. Don't even worry about those little screws under the headlights. When you remove the four large bolts underneath, the bumper assembly will slide out with the bumper. If you are going to put a kit on, take the screws out after you remove the bumper assembly. I also had the same problem a couple of months ago. I too thought that those little screws was hanging me up, but they're not. I hope I got this in before it was too late.

they probably put the bumber on first, put the bolts then the headlights.:thumb:
If you don't know about the bumper mount bolts, your kind of screwed. It looks like you have to take the headlights out to get the bumper off, but the bumper has to be off to get to the bottom tabs of the headlights. You can see the on going circle. My above post explains how they did it though.

I hope this didn't double post put there are 2 brackets under the headlights and back about 8 to 10 inches you can't see them from under the car but about the middle of the head light there is a piece of frame with acouple of round holes with bolts in them 2 on each bracket. Take the bolts out 15mm or 17mm Ican't rember and the bumper will slide right out. Given you don't have a greddy big FMIC then things are a bit more complicated.:thumb:
