im having a problem...when i drive my car it doesnt smoke or anything until i boost it anything past like 15 psi ...the smoke will come out from under the turbo....not alot but i can see it and i have a hood vent so it comes out there if i boost then say stop for a light. PTE said its just when its cold and oil leaks in the seals....but now its when its warmed up too.

and the other day i was tuning and sometimes when im driving my car hard and i do like a 3rd gear pull after i let off it will smoke hella out of my vent for like 3 or 4 seconds then stop...i thought it was my dipstick but im not sure then the other day when i was tuning i did a 3rd gear pull and it smoked then hella oil shot all over my engine and out the vent and on my windshield....that would be dipstick right?

Yes, sounds like you have massive blowby if it is it. I am assuming all your oil lines for your turbo are secure, and your turbo seals are good.

wth is blowby? LOL

Blowby is when the piston rings get worn down enough to where they leak cylinder pressure(along with boost pressure) into the crankcase. This will put a lot of pressure into your crankcase and in turn blow the dipstick out of the tube and usually oil out with it. How many miles on the car? How does it run? Best bet would be to do a compression test on the motor and see how the numbers look for it.

This is for a 420A but its still the same basic process for any motor.

Well the motors rebuild is fairly new not sure exactly how many miles but no more than 12k. Ill do a compression test on it today because I was going to seafoam the beast anyways and change the oil.

But im worried about my turbo seals is there anything I can do to check them? cause even after a good run at idle Ill pop my hood and see smoke coming from right under the turbo....not much but enough to see out of my vent if im at a light.

Sounds like an oil leak burining off the manifold. Buy a new dip stick. They are cheap. Also very slightly crimp the top of the dip stick tube so that the rubber seal of the dip stick holds better. If it still smokes a lot then its not oil coming from the dip stick and nost likely the turbo seals. Keep track of your engine oil level until you get this fixed. Also, make sure your PCV valve is not seized or else you will build up more crankcase pressure.

the valve is good and iv done the crimping cause iv had that problem before and ya it will smoke when the cars cold even when im not pushing it but if i let it idle it will stop smoking and its right under the exhaust housing of the turbo

Check your turbo for shaft play. With the engine cold, or slightly warm, pull off the intake pipe. Stick your fingers into the compressor housing and pinch the compressor wheel nut with your thumb and forefinger. This is why I said with the engine cold, or slightly warm, and not HOT. :thumb: Try to wiggle the compressor wheel up and down, side to side, and in and out. You should barely be able to feel any side/side or up/down shaft play. Any in/out shaft play however, means your turbo bearings are starting to fail. Also check for damage to the compressor fins or the inlet of the compressor housing where the fins might come into contact with it. Usually you'll feel shaft play before the compressor fins start rubbing the housing, but you never know.

Post back results.

ya iv done that too...it was good for the miles on this turbo...just a tiny bit of shaft play but not enough to be concerned

Best way is to pull the plug thats on the coil which will kill the spark and pull the "blue" fuse thats attached to your positive battery terminal......but kinda off topic ey??
