I recently purchased a 91 awd turbo talon. When driving it home from were I purchased it it threw the belt that runs off of the crankshaft and runs the power steering and something else (alternator??). I believe the engine may have overheated after the belt fell off (I drove it about a 1/4 of a mile after the belt fell off). Anyways, got the belt back on and now the car smokes like crazy. I took it to a shop and they said it was oil burning and they believe the problem is one of three things: (1) Oil blowing by the rings, (2) Bad valve seats, (3) Bad turbo. The shop also told me they thought it would be an expensive fix and told me any money I put into it would be a waste. The guy I bought the car off of had rebuilt the motor and replaced the valve seats rings and and new 16g turbo less than 1500 miles ago. I have no reciepts proving that he actually did the repairs, but the car ran fine before the belt fell off ( I got about and hour away from the sellers house). My question is is this worth repairing and if so where should I start or should I cut my losses now and get ride of the car. The car does start and run, but smokes after warming up. If any one is interested in the car I live in Decatur, Indiana and my cell is 260-402-8667. -Jed
