My car is a Daily Driver, im a college student with a part time job. Well i took off my exhaust manifold to see if its cracked all the way through and it was bad. So I ordered a new one and put the old one back on. So I drive it to school today and noticed that my bottom radiator hose was popped off so i fix it in the school parking lot and fill it with half a jug of antifreeze and half water. So I go to leave school and im on the highway and I look down at temp gauge and its rising substantially rate. So i get home and my car is pouring out smoke and cant find out the problem i recently replaced thermostat and have the radiator fan hooked up where it runs all the time. Also none of my accessories on my car wont work anymore such as power windows and windshield wipers. Let me know what you guys think my profile is up to date... Thanks Ryan

What probably happend there is the thermostat got stuck closed, in other words its probably not good . You should check it. The reason why im saying that is, i once had a similar problem and my upper hose came off, becuse when the thermostat does not open the system builds up so much pressure from boiling water that it can take the hose off. My other sudgestion is, you should stop driving the car before you destroy that engine. Overheating the engine can cause multiple amount of problems such as, blown head gasket, warped head, colapsed piston rings, melted piston, damaged valve etc.....

Also check all the other cooling components, such as the cooling fans, radiator, water pump, etc...
good luck

replace the rad cap.. if not the rad cap just replace the thermostat again..

Bro i really would not drive that car, unless you want worse problems than you already have now..
Like a headgasket? warped head? doesn't sound fun does it? Na. Just don't go to class tomorrow and be a rebel have your mommy let you use her car and go buy these two parts for under 20$..

"Burp" the system. On a cold engine, start the car and remove the rad cap. Top off with coolant and watch for the thermostat to open. When it does, water should be seen flowing through the housing. The level should drop if there's air in it. Top it off again until there's no more bubbles.

Should take 10-15 min for the thermostat to open at idle with a cold engine. If the car starts to overheat and you see no flow through the housing, the thermostat is ###### DOA.

Good luck, and happy hunting.
