smoke problems

This weekend i put my blowoff valve back on (turbo xs that is modified to recirculate), i made a 3 fuel filter catch can, and i removed the plastic dump tube thing (i had to to make the BOV go back into the intake.
Now it seems that whenever my car blows off after being over 8 psi or so it shoots out a cloud of smelly white smoke.
Anyone have any idea what can cause this to happen?

bad turbo gasket or seal, could be some coolant.

wouldnt that cause it to smoke all the time and not just when i blow off under higher boost?

I have the same problem on my 1g. Recently upgraded from a 14b>evo3 and larger injectors and uip and filter and it does it all the time. I,m running stock boost and like you mine does it after 8psi after blowing off and backfires too. I'm going to do a tune up to see if it helps me and I'm running extremely rich in fuel so that may be why I'm backfiring after blowing off. If a tune up works for me I'll post and tell what I did to fix it.

White smoke is coolant. Can also be caused by excessive boost levels, Sometimes.

jnm91dsm : If you're venting your blow off valve, That is 1 of your problems.
