I made a post a while back about having some Rev and idle problems and it just keeps getting worse  Ok So my 1990 Talon Tsi Wouldn't rev past 2 grand so I ordered some new plugs nkg 7s. I pulled out old plugs they where pure black on the bottom resulting the car was running to rich. So I put the new plugs in fired her up and reved fine. But it idled worse than before to the point where it died a few times. WTF and I have not had any check engine light. So after that I went to go try and drive down the street it bogs at 2 grand and wont go. Also the car is blowing all kinds of white smoke out the exhaust. Maybe because it hasn't been driven in 2 years. Should I replace the wires to and that could be the end of my problem..

Vehicle history when I first got the car it didn't run so after diagnosing the problem it turned out the 2 plugs one being the tps and the other forgot what it was where reversed and the car started right after that no codes or anything. The people before me never got the car running but replaced ECU check the part number it is for the right year etc and fuel pump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :talon:

white smoke is anti-freeze,how old is the gas?you said it sat for 2 years.if you ran that gas through the engine you may have stuck a valve.did the car freeze up while it was sitting over the winter?

I have a 1.8, so my advice will have to be translated. But it should give you a general idea of the 2k limit problem.

Awhile back my car started doing that. It would limit at 2,000, and there was nothing you could do to get it to go past that.

For the 1.8, you can simply unplug the ISC sensor to find the source of the problem. Unpluging that sensor allows it to freely rev again. So I went ahead and replaced that sensor and haven't had it happen since.

I'm no 63 expert, but I am sure that you don't have this sensor. But I know you have an ISC motor, so you might try unplugging it or any connectors nearby when the problem occurs. If you unplug something and the car crosses 2k, problem located.

Hope this helps you somehow.
