white smoke, high idle

did a 6bolt swap on a 98 gst get heavy white smoke at idle along with it idling high and the crankcase vent on the side of the valve conver sucks air pretty hard. wondering if anyone know what was goin on its this a bad hg? also dont smell like burning coolant any help?

White smoke is usually indicative of a coolant leak intrusion into the combustion chamber. I would do a hydrocarbon test in your cooling system to see if it indeed is a combustion leak. You can buy the kits at most auto parts places.

Is the motor new/Rebuilt?
When i swapped for a rebuilt it smoked for the first 100 miles, im assuming it was burning off Assembly lube. but yeah white is coolant. Maybe check the torque specs on your head bolts.
