Smoke from mani, turbo area

I just put in some new valves to the head and everything looked good. Timing looked spot on. but when I started the car it smoked really bad from the exhaust mani area.
Also the manifold looks like its getting wet
Is this normal after a small rebuild?

check valve cover for a pinched gasket , specialy around cams ...could have a small oil leak

this could be true but if it started pouring out smoke as soon as he started it up; it has to be exhaust leak or perhaps grease from his hands from just getting done rebuilding it.

Could be several things.

Oil on the manifold,
Bad manifold gasket,
Bad valve cover gasket,
Or bad valve Seals,

I know you stated NEW VALVES, and I imagine you replaced the seals as well, But just to make sure.

I would say , IF he did all the work proplerly, its either grease or pb blaster he used previously. My cars always smoke for like 4 hours after I do major work because all the PB blaster I use. I soak every bolt to make sure I dont break any

that's what i was thinking. if he's using a fresh manifold, that's most likely the reason.

Ok heres the work I did to the car

-New HeadGasket
-New ,well used small 16g turbo
-the valve stem seals have been replaced
-I replaced a few exhaust and intake mani valves(4 each).
-The valve cover gasket was replaced, and I also added Copper Silicon RTV,( The job was done poorly Ill admit, but the valve cover gasket is pretty much brand new
- I replaced pretty much all my seals except for the rear crank case main seal
- BTW technically the exhaust to turbo manifold gasket is new, but I had started my car one day, drove it for 15 minutes and thats when I bent some valves, I just reused all the gaskets though, considering I had them on for less than 15 miles.

As for when the smoke starts, probably after like 4 minutes after turning on the car.
But honestly its getting better to tell you the truth, its starting to smoke less


*ALSO, MY STOCK OIL PRESSURE GAUGE HAS BEEN READING KIND OF LOW LATELY, IS THIS BAD NEWS?

uhhhh, if it's low at idle, you'll be fine ( not to low but sorta lowER ). have u tried sniffing the smoke to see what it smells like ??

Its really low at idle, Like really low, it does go up when you give it gas though. This doesnt mean my oil pump is going does it?

I think it might be burning oil, I found a suspect though, think it might be the line going from the turbo to the head, its leaking. bummer.
It does get two copper crush washers right?

YEs 2 washers. 1 before and 1 after the banjo bolt

BTW Anybody know what the torque rating is for the banjo bolt on the turbo directly underneath the exhaust manifold? Goes from the head of the block to the top of the turbo housing I believe
I looked this up but cant find the exact bolt

Any updates on this issue? Im having a similar problem after my rebuild and another hg job.

check the small bolt located in the front left area on the valve cover. most people have a line coming from this spot but may just stick a bolt in it when the line is removed and mine was leaking a small amount of oil which could explain the moisture and the smoke?
