smoke from door vents.

Today I was driving down the highway, about 80 mph, and i noticed smoke began to fill the cabin from the adjustable side vents on the doors. It was a grey ish smoke, didn't really smell like burnt oil smoke ( my valve cover used to leak and drip on the exhaust) I have never heard of this happening, and is rather unpleasantly. It's happened a few times before , but I had the Windows down so it didn't seem as bad. Any help would be much appreciate.

check wireing that runs into the door. It sounds to me like something shorted out...

I have this same problem! Mine dosent smell like anything either. Just an ugly smell. Mine started when I filled up my coolant with anti freeze. /:

check for a leak in your heater core.. coolant may be evaperating into your hvac system..

under your dash is a black box were your blower motor is. that is were your heater core is located. pull off the black pannals and start the car with heat on high. look for leaks(coolant) or use a cooling system pressure tester.

I've taken both door panels off and looked around. All the wiring seems to be ok. I'll look at the heater core tomorrow and see what its doin. I'm bout to drive this pos into a lake -_-

dont just look inside the door pannals. look at the harness that goes between the door in the rubber boot. thats a common pintch point. the boot can wear and cause wires to chafe. if you still dont find any wiring problems id look at the heater core as i mentioned above. good louck

Ill try it on a day I don't have work. Also when I turn on the defrost it actually dosent defrost it. It makes it worse. Just thought id throw that out there for anybodu that has that too.

this is most deffinently your hvac. just find the black box and look to see if its the core or the heater hoses, then replace what ever is bad. good luck

It's all good man. I looked and the wiring is fine, no smoke coming from any wires. I meant to look around at the heater core and see what its doing , just got a little distracted.

check your passenger floor, thats where my coolant was going when i blew my heater core, it had a smoke too

I don't think there's anything on the floor. I didn't notice anything.
