Ill post this here due to the nature of "bolt on" parts.

Awhile back someone asked about how well a modded DSM would pass a smog test, and inquired about cams and such.

My Talon has HKS 264,272 combo with 8.5 to 1 Ross pistons and 660 injectors.

Im running a RRE 3in cat and I have a DSM chip with and SAFC and a 2G mas.

Technecly this car would fail a visual inspection, but they did not look under the hood.

I made sure my FTs were around 100 before i went in and I went in with a hot cat and never shut off my engine before the test.

here are the numbers:

CO2@ idle 14.6% and @ 2500 rpm 14.8%

O2@ idle .7% and @ 2500 .4%

HC@ idle 21 PPM and @ 2500 12 PPM (average is 14 to 21 PPM max is 100)

CO@ idle .00% and @2500 .10 (max is 1.0)

so a well tuned slightly modded car can run very clean, and if it can pass a "test only" in Cali then it could pass anywhere:thumb:

wow, you should tell all the people in socal about the place you passed at.

i passed with 50 trim, and all supporting mods here in cali as well. With visual, no under the table. But i don't have cams, which I realllllly realllly want, but still hesistant because of smog.
