I have the stock SMIC right now, But this guy at a local audio shop told me he has a SMIC for a 2g (But he owns a 1g) he said its a little bigger but will hook up to the same hook up. And its chrome. He wanted to sell it for 50 bucks, but i told him i have a couple gauges he could look at, and he was interested. the gauges arent worth shit to me, Should I trade the gauges and like 10 bucks for it?

Also, You know how they have that kind of ram air idea on the stock SMIC, The black thing. I think it would have to be on, But with the new SMIC, wouldent it still need that air box, so it actually wouldent take in more air, or is it alright to dump the black thing? Either way, My SMIC now has a few bent fins. And for 10 bucks, and gauges I was just goin to have lay around. Its worth it either way.

Also, Will having a bigger SMIC affect my car, with my T25

Bigger SMIC, colder air into the head = better

But....

If you are going to another smic, get a supra side mount and flip the tanks.

Chrome doesnt matter, you cant see it anyway.

Honestly, I wouldnt do it, save the guages for leverage on another deal.

The sidemount may be a 2G unit modified with larger inlets and outlets which can flow more air, or it may be a used ADFX or DejonTool unit. The only way to tell is by looking at it and taking measurements. The chrome he's referring to may also be polished end tanks as any other coating other than anodizing will affect and intercoolers ability to transfer heat and cool the air charge.

It's not needed with the T25 and your stocker will do well up to about 20-21psi on a Big16G. I still had mine when I was running 12.90's although it will heatsoak at those boost pressures after a couple of pulls. Keeping the black air funnel is recommended as this will ensure that air passing through the bumper inlet will go through the IC and not around it.

Hope that helps,

Andy

how could you tell it was the same IC by me just posting about it? I havent even seen it. He said its aftermarket and its bigger, He bought it for his 1g, but never put it on or something. The Gauges are crap, their SPW, I was going to sell them for like 10 bucks a pice, I dont even know if the lights work in the gauges anymore, they stoped working for me, but then again the wires were all screwed up so I redid them all, when I put in new gauges.

Im going to look at it on Monday...10 bucks and getting rid of these crap gauges, You dont think its worth it? I was on the verge of giving these gauges away...I think Ill do it either way, Ill make it a WMIC Wall Mount Intercooler. And Hang it on the wall for 10 bucks.

Thanks Andy for addressing the questions...I dont really see it helping a whole lot. but its probably better then mine, with bent fins.

I read about it being painted will mess it up, but I think its just shiney, like FMIC look. Im not sure, Ill find out Monday I guess

Hey, no problem. It couldn't hurt to have a look at it and see what it is. At worst, you could straighten the fins and turn it into a cocktail table. Just remember that your stocker will be fine for quite a while. The only issues you may have with fitment is that the 1G mounting points are a bit different than the 2G's.

Let me know what you find,

Andy

what i ment is, He bought it for his 1g, But it was suppost to be an aftermarket for a 2g, Thats why he wants me to have it. and he said it only has a couple bent fins, when I said Bent fins, I ment mine, I got a crap load.
