does anyone know if a company makes a smaller coolant bottle or a smaller one from another car will work on the slidding clip that the oem one goes on?

I dont know of any other that will fit on there, but some people use a gatorade bottle. The overflow cap fits on it.

Also, the overflow bottle doesnt have to be where they put it from the factory. Many people with big front mounts and piping choose to route them in the passenger side wheel well in place of the stock sidemount.

I have a bigger sidemount (supra) and a 2.5 in licp so the coolant bottle gets in the way or i would put it on the passenger side bumper area

hey ISUjakey, on the oem coolant bottle they have a little electronic thing on the bottom, i think it lets you know when the coolant is low, do you know if this coolant bottle you posted has something similar so the coolant light doesn't stay on

I have heard that the overflow bottle from the Mitsubishi Expo is smaller and will readily fit in the Eclipse.

is the electrical thing on the bottom of the stock coolant bottle needed because it looks like it does not come on the aftermarket one?

That is your coolant sensor. If your bottle is empty for whatever reason, the coolant light on your dash will come on. I'm sure you could either ground it or tie the ends together (consult the appropriate factory wiring diagram) to bypass it, but would you really want to?

aftermarket coolant bottles don't have a use for that sensor so, I don't know what to do with it

Shit, I halfassed my install. I will eventually replace it and put in the stock fender by the stock SMIC, but for now, I zip tied mine to my FMIC pipe and fender supports. I know its hick but it works.

Heres a pic.
