So I just rebuilt the engine including swapping the crankshaft for a reman. When I was finished I started it and there is a small vibration noise coming from inside the tranny, sounds to be on the edge of the bell hosing. When I put the motor back in I know it was a tighter fit than normal and the clutch did not want to spin freely to aling the bolts like normal- it took prying with a screwdriver to turn it. The noise only happens sometimes, is the same type and sound with any rpm's. Im not that familiar with trannys but I took it to a mechanic and they said it was not coming from the bell housing. When I listen to it the point on the tranny it is at is either right up against where the bell housing stops or in it. Im getting ready to pull the engine to see if I can figure out what it is but if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate knowing where to start lookin or at least have a direction to go.
I tried taking it to a shop but the damn car decided not to make the noise while it was there both times! I showed my dad the t/o bearing and he said it definetly is bad so hopefully thats all that is wrong with it now I just need to find a good quality clutch for a good price and hopefully itll be running. Thank you for your input!!
