This ones going to be kind of out there when trying to figure out whats going wrong with my car. I thank you in advance.

Ok here's whats going on.

When accelerating there is a constant noise coming from up front. When I press the clutch in it goes away (or gets softer). It gets worse in 2nd gear on up, I can hear it going 50 down the street. It sounds like the noise you would get if you put cards in the spokes of your bike tires... Everything else runs fine, except for the occasional idle surge. The clutch is a stock replacement. Could it be my transmission? or possible something entirely different like my coil pack?

Who did the clutch replacement? How long after clutch was replaced did this sound start to happen?

Sounds to me like something funny may be going on with your pressure plate. If you have the time/place to seperate, do so and see what might have broken, or come loose.

Ok ill try that when I can, I'm hoping to get an evo here pretty soon so when i get that I will start to deconstruct everything. Any other ideas are welcome.

check your throw out bearing.Unfortunately that is what it sounds like

You know, thats what i thought. When its cold out and I start my car, it sounds like something is bouncing around in my engine. Obviously the chances of that are slim. When I push down the clutch it goes away... The clutch and throwout bearing are under warranty but that doesnt mean I dont have to take it apart first! :banghead::cry:

I agree that it is the TOB. I had the same noise in my 95 and when I replaced the TOB it went away. Not too hard of a fix if you have the space and time to do it yourself.

maybe throwout bearing? i always grease my throwout bearings even though there new...! i just dont trust them lasting long and when i put grease on them they last more than they did before...!

Well, I picked up a new car last week so its time to start working on this problem. Ill probably just start my build since i dont have to worry about not have transportation now. Thanks everyone for your help. Any suggestions on clutches? I will be turbo here soon!
