I was just wondering if anyone has the sbr fmic it looks pretty beastly. I just wanted to know how it fits and the quality of it

christ that thing is way huge.

He is talking about the 2G kit, but I think the core is relatively the same. I just ordered that kit on monday. I had it polished and ordered a slimline 12" fan to help with the cooling at a stop. I asked every question imaginable about this kit, so post away and I should have a good portion of the answers. No use bothering Mike Huml with questions that I have already asked, he replied really quick by the way.

I am also very interested in the 2g kit. I sent an email to see if they can accomodate the kit to a 2g with a 6 bolt which I am sure they can. I would also like to see pics of it with the bumper on.

Damax03, did the kit come with the fan or did you have to get it seperately? Also, did they mention anything about relocating the coolant overflow tank and stock fan(s)?

I doesnt look like its a full kit thoughm i seems its missing some pipeing

It's short routed so you are missing about 3 ft if not more of unnecessary piping:thumb: I already have a nice FMIC but I will definantly look into this one when I switch manifolds.

Yea i understand its short routed but the pipes in the pic only show the side from the TB to the fmic outlet, maybe the other didnt make it into the picture.:dsm:

The core is about the same size as the old IRC (new AGP) cores but not as long and taller instead. May flow a little better with the same cooling capacity.

Anybody with this kit yet?

Mine will be here in a week or two, cant wait!!

I am having it polished so that takes longer, otherwise the kit is already welded and built.

Both intercoolers, 1g and 2g are the same core (garret), just welded with different endtanks. The piping pictured for the 2g kit is actually the piping for the 1g, the 2g has a lower "U" bend pipe that comes around the frame on the drivers side. If you specify when ordering a kit that you have a 6-bolt/2g car will can include a slightly different TB elbow to accomidate. Both kits can be used with the stock main fan (pass side), however the a/c fan will have to be removed or replaced with a slimline do to the short piping route. Also, the stock coolant bottle will have to be relocated, we usual use the stock opening for the smic infront of the pass tire. Hope this answers most of the questions.

hey, nate about that coolant relocation.............im in the process of installing my fmic, i got it from straightline, but anyways, i took my old overflow and placed it where the smic used to be. It looks like the tires will hit it...... Im sure that's not the case if you put it there on most cars, but how close is it? which way do you mount the bottle?

I should fit in there without rubbing the tire, just mount it as high as possible. Alternatively you could mount it over the tranny between the front mount upper pipe and the motor. You can also pickup a cheap overflow bottle at the local parts store, $8 at local Advanced Auto, and go that route.

the kit includes the lower ic piping right? Do we just specify turbo when ordering so we can get the correct lower ic piping? And it comes with all couplers and clamps right?
