I have a slight misfire at idle. Its only happens at idle and it doesnt sound like a constant misfire. could a slight vaccum leak cause this? I should know this but im more of an electrical guy.

I don't think a vacuum leak would cause a misfire. However, if it isn't actually a misfire, a vacuum leak could cause it to run shitty at idle depending on where it is. If you don't have emissions testing in your area, i would recommend doing a vacuum deletion.

actually i have a slight leak at the tb seals, but what vaccum lines can i get rid of from the top of the 2g throttle body?

Mine has always done the same thing. Replacing the head gasket next weekend (different problem) and changing out the throttle-body with one I just rebuilt. Mine has a horrible leak there as well. I am interested if the leak is enough to make it run that badly. I do have a wally 255 as well on a stock fpr. I know it runs horribly rich at idle, and that is on the list to be replaced soon also. What do you have for fuel and tuning for the 16g?

please let me know if it helps, i have no tuning software. i have an mbc and adjustable BOV. i plan on getting the new seals and putting them in during the summer after school lets out.

my car also has a problem starting from cold. i have to play the throttle to keep it running, i wonder if it is also from the leaking seals.

What fuel pump do you have? I will let you know, though it will be about two weeks away. I have finals next week and papers to write all this week/weekend. The seals are actually very easy to do. I had an extra throttle-body laying around to rebuild. Also what kind of idle controls do you have? (like Isc, fiav)

im all stock on the throttle body, and as far as i know i have the stock pump also.

Well hopefully someone else can chime in and help both of us then! My bet is throttle-body. You have done plugs and wires right? I have, along with coil pack, fuel filter, etc. So not many other options!

yes plugs and wires. i havnt done the fuel filter or o2 sensor. both on my list though

i have the same issue with the missfiring at idle. you can hear it miss every once in a while. someone told me valves but i dont think it is. fuel filter is next on the list, tried plugs, wires, coil pack, o2 sensor, coolant sens., and BLT.....

Just to update, I changed the head on my car with a SIM built head (along with all gaskets and timing components). It runs awesome now, absolutely no misfires like before. Upon inspecting the head the guides were cracked and all valves seemed somewhat bent (warped?). None sealed completely. I hope this helps you guys out if you are still having the same issues.
