OK, I have a FWD 2G and I have an LSD. I'm looking for a little better traction at the track so I'm looking for some new rubber. Should I go with slicks or drag radials?? I do not have experience with either or, so I am looking for some opinions from users of each. Also, how wide would you guys recommend? Also, where can I get some cheap wheels for the tires? Please let me know.

Thanks -Paul-

SLICKS...

I also have a FWD with LSD on street tires the best I could pull was a

2.6 60' 9.4 @ 88.2 mph dunlop sp8000 zr16's
1.9 60' 8.4 @ 88.9 mph E.T. slicks 22X8X15

I do not reccomend such a small slick I did not realize how small they were till I got them.. a 24.5x8x15 would be MUCH better size for the car.. I am still spinning pretty bad through 1st, BUT it pulls like nothing I have experienced before :D :D put a grin on my face everytime I launched!

What kind of LSD do you have and what brand of slicks??

I think my best was a 2.4 but that wasn;t the 9.4 time... It could MAYBE be that I am running more power than you which makes traction a little harder to come by

my LSD is the BM tranny insert, which I think is now gone because it only works when it wants to.. at first it was great. oh well next clutch time will bring a better diff. too! :D

slicks are Mickey Thompson E.T. Slicks

I picked up half a sec. in the qtr by going to slicks. I use M&H slicks on Bogart rims to a best 60' of 1.73. My best on my Toyo RA1's was a 2.13. It makes a huge differance in consistancy as well.
