Simple Question: How to remove stock shift knob?

I just don't want to damage anything in the process. Does it twist off or do I yank the hell out of it?

I just want to replace it with an aftermarket.

Twist hard. Until it snaps loose, then screw it off its threads.

Remove it just like you were to remove a 2L pop bottle cap.

Should screw off unless someone JB welded it onto there like they did with mine oh well if it wont come off easy get a pipewrench, one with the rubber you wrap around the pipe and get after it

make sure you go counter clockwise when your trying to get it off.... otherwise your going to have one hell of a time...

There's a vinyl trim piece at the top of the shifter boot that'll kind of bond to the bottom of the shifter knob, so be careful of that. For the knob, get a Grip wrench and a dishtowel. Yes, they tend to get stuck on there like crazy.

YANK REALLY HARD haha just kidding twist, mine would not come off.... it took me like 25 minutes to get it off, finally did what defiant said and got a big wrench and a towel
