Should my PCV valve leak while im doing a boost leak test? i plugged it up for the time being but its brand new and leaking boost and pissin me off LOL

No it shouldnt leak, especially under a boost leak test, Infact if your getting air on a boost leak test into your valve cover thats a sign of a blown turbo seal or bad valves or worn piston ring's first do the following to determine if indeed it is the turbo seal or not.

But first lets focus on the PCV valve, unhook the PCV valve from your intake manifold and try to blow into the tube if you cant blow into it your pcv valve is working normal. If you can blow into it you need a new PCV valve which is only $3.99. If PCV valve test's fine begin the following steps below

1.) Hook a boost leak tester into the turbo inlet compressor and find out what
psi your system will hold.

2.) Hook a boost leak tester to your lower intercooler piping pointing towards the intercooler/intake side and pressure test that as well. When you pressure test from this side and your leak is fixed on your pcv valve and you dont feel any pressure building up in your valve cover that will let you know your turbo seal is bad and needs replaced.

3.) If your still getting air from your pcv valve/valve cover period even on the lower intercooler piping test then that means you have an internal problem and I recommend doing a dry and wet compression test. Here is how that is done; http://www.dsmgrrrl.com/FAQs/compression.htm ; the only difference from a 2g test is you pull the fuse called "engine"

No, if the PCV leaks from the manifold to rocker cover it's bad.
I've yet to find a non-OEM PCV that doesn't leak. It's used to be that the OEM ones always worked but that hasn't been the case for a while. Most of the cars that use this valve are NA so leaking under boost wasn't an issue. I now check everyone before installing it.

If he does what I say he will be fine dont confuse him steve.

This isn't as big of an issue as some make it sound.

I had this exact problem. Car ran like shit it was so bad. So I did a boost leak test and I found my PCV valve was not holding so I moved my leak tester to my lower i/c pipe and it still leaked.

I removed my cheap Puroilator PCV, put my friend OEM one on and no more leak.

Picked up a NAPA one thinking the Puroilator was just defective and it leaked exactly in the same way the Puroilator one did. Then I picked up a OEM and haven't had any issues since.

does that mean the napa part i just picked up is trash and i should replace it again with an oem pcv valve?
It means that the odds are good that your brand new NAPA part leaks under boost. You have to test it to make sure.

Apply air pressure equal you your max boost pressure to the barbed side of the PCV. If air leaks to the threaded side it's no good for use in a turbo car. Give it to somebody with an NA.

No, not always. Depends on how its bad, whats broken and how bad the broken parts are.

My car ran good with a messed up turbo right up until it completely seized up :)

For sure the non OEM pcv's leak i just bought one to test it and indeed it did leak very easily by me just blowing into it, now thats cheap....
