I have had my 50trim for awhile now and I am getting use to it for the most part. I love the turbo but I feel the need for more. I have recently been offered a trade, my 50trim for a agp 60-1 with 5,000k on it. I have supporting mods, although I have 660's, which may not be enough???...???? I have a dnp mani with a tial wastegate, should I trade for the 60-1 or would it not be a good trade. All opinions welcome. :thumb:

Sounds like a very tempting offer, I'd say if you have the suporting mods for it then go for it! The 60-1 it's a very nice turbo, honestly im not sure what would be the best injector size for that turbo, but your current injectors should be enough for a while... plus you'll have to start with your tuning all over again from low to higher boost levels, so it'll give you time to play with them and look at your logs/duty cycles and see what size will suit your needs better on a near future.

With my dnp and fmic will the 60-1 bolt right up to everything or no? I think it will but need to make sure. Thanks
Plus another thing that scares me is the lag that I am going to get with the 60-1.

yes, I do have dsmlink.......right now I am getting about 85% injduty with my 50trim.

Is the DNP a mistu flange or a T3? that would help to know, and find out if the 60trimis a T3 or mistu flanged...

Your injectors are too small to run a 60-1 at more than 20-21 psi provided the rest of the fueling is up to par. If you have Link, get a set of 950's and you'll have more headroom to up the boost and run the turbo in its preferred operating range.

Just my .02,

Andy

I run a 60-1 and I am max'd out on my 680's running 23psi. The lag isn't bad (although I have never run a 50trim). Going from a big16g to a 60-1, the power more than makes up for the lag.

the 60-1 is an awesome turbo. It kicks like a bat out of hell. I would too would recommend you go up in injector. 850-1000 would be fine, i would lean towards the 850. Set that bad boy to 22psi and have some fun. Or go all out and get some Alky for your beast and shoot for 25-26psi.

You can only go so fast on pump gas...

My 50 trimmed car versus my friends 60-1 both at 25psi on pump gas with similiar mods (he has dmlink, I have an S-AFC) is almost even in a 4th gear pull. Well actually I get about a car length in spool and then he gains back about 1/2 a car after 6000 rpms.

I like mine, If I had to chance to do it I would go with a GT 30 or 35. Of course my car is not really a DD street car. It's just a hwy killer

As far as differences, most poeple make it into the 11's on the 50 trim and most people make it into the 10's with a 60-1. All in all, you will see more power from the 60-1 at boost levels over 22psi and less power with boost levels below 18psi. What are your goals and how much boost you run normally should be taken into consideration when making the decision.

As far as your injectors, the 660's will work for lower boost levels but you might should upgrade eventually before you run high boost. Do you have an afpr? If so, you can set base pressure to 46 and that should give you a little more room. I pesonally run 750's and have been able to run 30psi on race gas and saw a little ove 90%idc. This is with base pressure raised from 37 to 42(1g, 2g bfp is 43) and stock fuel lines.

Well, here's the deal. I would like to trade for the 60-1 and obviously hope for more hp just as soon as I bolt it on, but I know it doesnt work like that unfortunately. So what I would hope to be a very cheap power increase might actually cost me some money. $injectors and afpr probably. I am debateing to do the trade and buy the injectors and start tuning all over again or save that money from the injectors and afpr and buy a smim. I mostly run pump gas except for a couple weekends in the summer. It is my DD in the summer so that plays in as well. I guess I am a speed freak and always want to go faster.

if you dont want to do the trade i will....just let know who it is. I have a turbonetics 50 trim t3/t4 .63 exhaust housing and stage III wheel with a polished compressor housing. If you dont want to trade with that guy, let him know that i'm willing.:thumb:
